setfocus does not reach a trigger control inside repeat.

Want to lead the focus to a trigger inside a repeat once the form is loaded.

I've run the attached example against orbeon.com sandbox without success :-(

Please let me now if i'm doing wrong or if there is a workaround i would use to get rid of the problem.

You can try to first do a <setindex> to the proper row, then use
<setfocus>. That should work.
