context dependent selection list

alex sharaz-3
Hi,

Sure this has been covered at some point, just can't find a reference
to it.

I'd like to set up a pair of select1 statements in a form where the
selection list in statement 2 is dependent upon the item selected in
statement 1.

pointer to email thread or some docn appreciated
Rgds
Alex

Alex,

If the data in the second select needs to be loaded dynamically, then
upon xforms-value-changed in the first select, you run a submission
which loads a new instance to which the second select points.

If you already have all the data for the second select in an instance,
and you just want to show a different subset, then the
<xxforms:itemset nodeset="..."> expression just needs to depend on the
value in the first select.

Does this make sense?

Alex
