I tried to install the OPS sample portlet for liferay, but the portlet did not show up in the "add application windows" after successful upload.
I am using liferay-portal-tomcat-5.5-jdk5-4.4.1 |

We already have the updated descriptors but didn't get a chance yet to check them in and update the build.xml accordingly. I will try to do this soon and will post a follow-up here. I interested in this topic. We used orbeon xforms under jetspeed 2 portlet environment, but not current release (custom build from previsous version 3.5.1.200704021255). We have problem with new realease or svn build under jetspeed or liferay, when we use xform:load or xform:submit. I try to debug what is wrong. In my first opinion when goes response from server to try load new url(sended via ajax request) is called server container, but not jetspeed (or liferey) portlet container (no url encoding in portlet).

Yes, unfortunately this is a known regression. At this point your portlet will work as expected only if it has "one page", i.e. if you don't use load or submissions replace="all". There you go: we now have a nightly build which incorporates new descriptors for Liferay which should fix your problem. You can download orbeon-3.6.0.200802140201.war from: http://tinyurl.com/239lvp (note that this link will expire). I didn't get a chance to test Liferay-Jboss, only the Liferay Bundled with Tomcat 5.5 for JDK 5.0, and everything seems to be working fine with the 4.4.1 version of that bundle. Can you check if it works for you with the Liferay Bundled with Tomcat 5.5 for JDK 5.0? I.e. is the issue you see specific to JBoss bundle, or is it something else? Alex |
This post was updated on .
when testing again, finally get it worked with Liferay Bundled with Tomcat 5.5 for JDK 5.0 and liferay-jboss bundle.
However, still some small problems: 1) OPS breaks the liferay theme 2) some errors from liferay-jboss bundle 06:32:03,703 INFO [PluginPackageHotDeployListener] Plugin package orbeon-3.6.0. 200802140201/orbeon-3.6.0.200802140201/unknown/war registered successfully 06:32:03,824 INFO [PortletHotDeployListener] Registering portlets for orbeon-3. 6.0.200802140201 06:32:04,635 ERROR [STDERR] log4j:ERROR A "org.jboss.logging.appender.FileAppend er" object is not assignable to a "org.apache.log4j.Appender" variable. 06:32:04,755 ERROR [STDERR] log4j:ERROR The class "org.apache.log4j.Appender" wa s loaded by 06:32:04,865 ERROR [STDERR] log4j:ERROR [WebappClassLoader delegate: false repositories: /WEB-INF/classes/ ----------> Parent Classloader: java.net.FactoryURLClassLoader@bc7428 ] whereas object of type 06:32:05,266 ERROR [STDERR] log4j:ERROR "org.jboss.logging.appender.FileAppender " was loaded by [org.jboss.system.server.NoAnnotationURLClassLoader@19dfbff]. 06:32:05,386 ERROR [STDERR] log4j:ERROR Could not instantiate appender named "FI LE". 06:32:08,580 WARN [PortletHotDeployListener] 06:32:08,691 INFO [PortletHotDeployListener] Portlets for orbeon-3.6.0.20080214 0201 registered successfully 06:32:08,911 ERROR [STDERR] Starting Orbeon Forms Release 3.6.0.200802140201 06:32:09,031 ERROR [STDERR] Initializing Resource Manager with: {oxf.resources.p riority.1.oxf.resources.webapp.rootdir=/WEB-INF/resources, oxf.resources.priorit y.1=org.orbeon.oxf.resources.WebAppResourceManagerFactory, oxf.resources.priorit y.2=org.orbeon.oxf.resources.ClassLoaderResourceManagerFactory, oxf.resources.fa ctory=org.orbeon.oxf.resources.PriorityResourceManagerFactory, org.orbeon.oxf.re sources.WebAppResourceManagerImplServletContext=org.apache.catalina.core.Applica tionContextFacade@187a50b} by the way, do you think it would also work for weblogic and glassfish? thanks |

OK, I am glad to read this. > However, still some small problems: > 1) OPS breaks the liferay theme If this is a problem for you (i.e. if you are planning to use the Liferay theme), and you find a solution for this, please let us know. This might be just an issue with CSS, and we'll be glad to incorporate your changes if that helps. > by the way, do you think it would also work for weblogic and glassfish? It will really depend on the particular versions of those application servers, so only testing will tell. If you have no particular reason to use a given application server, I would stick with Tomcat as this is what most people are using and it is pretty much guaranteed that Orbeon Forms will always deploy fine on Tomcat.
