3.7.1 won't start in tomcat6 on ubuntu 8.10

settings, more jvm memory, etc.) but no luck thus far.

no issues deploying/running other wars, and orbeon runs fine on similar
windows setup.

perhaps tomcat5.5 would be a better starting point?

any thoughts or experiences appreciated.
