Form content track changes

mike999
H,

My name is Michael Trinh and I am new in this mailing list.

I am currently look at a kind of "track changes functionality" using Orbeon.

The scenario is as follows:
User opens an existing form, modifies it (text box, radio button etc.), then save it.
Then he wants to see in the latest form the changes compared to the previous version. (a bit like track change of a word processor).

I was trying look at the version 4.3 PE, and did not find something like this.
Is this functionality supported in Orbeon ?
Or is it feasible with XPL ?

Thanks

Michael,

Sorry there is no such functionality in Orbeon Forms right now.

Some persistence implementations (Oracle, MySQL, DB2) keep all changes in the database (eXist does not at the moment), so the data is already there for those. But the UI would have to be built.

So it's feasible in the sense that it could be programmed, yes, but that's not saying much.

In eXist, the versioning extensions
(http://exist-db.org/exist/apps/doc/versioning.xml ) could be a
fondation to build such a UI.
