xforms:copy

Dean Mao
I took a brief look at the reference-xforms-compliance.xml file and it
mentioned that xforms:copy does not perform a deep-copy of the xml
instance yet, but a comment at the top of the page also mentioned that
the page had not been updated for OPS 3.0 yet.  Does OPS 3.0 support
the xforms:copy tag?

I briefly tested it out and it seemed like xforms:copy just acts the
same as xforms:value did.  Anyone have any explicit answers to this
yet?

Thanks,

Dean

Dean,

The compliance page is completely, utterly out of date, hence the
warning. This said, the XForms NG engine does not support xforms:copy at
all, but we plan to implement it reasonably soon. Here is the tracker:

http://forge.objectweb.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=305615&group_id=168&atid=350207

XForms Classic supported xforms:copy, but we do not encourage you to use
XForms Classic, so in the meanwhile I would advise trying to use
xforms:insert / xforms:delete as a workaround. xforms:copy is a funny
beast anyway ;-)
