Are you using the OrbeonXFormsFilter?
If so the process is:
* JSP produces XForms
* XForms is processed by Orbeon Forms and sent to the browser
At that point, your JSP is out of the loop.
If you want a JSP to obtain information in an instance, you must use
xforms:submission and post it to a service.
We have an example of service implemented in JSP here:
