xform combobox & db

I am using form builder to design combobox (drop down ) to show the list of cities .I set each city name and its code for the itemset value and label . but I do not know how to make a query from db and set ( bind ) the result to the form builder.if anyone kknow the answer, please help as much as he/she can.
