upgrade problems

Hi!
We have an application on orbeon 3.6, that checked with code analyzer has a lot
of problems with orbeons third party elements such as saxon, xalan, xerces. Is
it possible to upgrade only these components?
It would be too big change for us to upgrade to orbeon 3.9. We search some
other, more modest change. Do you have any suggestion for this problem?
