to set up a button to create an MSword DOCX output similiar to the PDF button

Has anyone done this ; where they have been requested to create a word docx output via a button in a similiar operation to the current pdf button scenario

We've done some Word document generation in the past with Orbeon Forms, albeit not in the context of Form Runner. And in fact we have an RFE for this. If you're interested in implementation this on your own, see the two possible approaches listed on:
