I'm sorry but the thing is to write a theme and configure that in the default epilogue. This means that you do _not_ need to write a custom epilogue, just setting property oxf.epilogue.theme. The default epilogue reads from that property.

You can specify the property by creating a properties-local.xml file that overrides default properties, see http://www.orbeon.com/ops/doc/reference-properties#d21e11.
