My mistake I was using --MM to indicate month but I should have been using --MM--. So validator is working nicely only if I can get the validator processor to send back application/xml content type when there is an error and decorate attribute set to true. Currently I keep getting the validation error which exits the processor and sends back text/html.

I can't rule out a bug in the MSV validator.

The value is in correct format per gMonth specification?

Is this a bug?
I do not control the schema since it is quite complex and constructed by the
State of Pennsylvania so I can not change the schema.
