Hey, all -
We are trying to use orbeon as xforms front end, and it's integrated
with a spring mvc app.
According to the documentation,
http://wiki.orbeon.com/forms/doc/developer-guide/xforms-with-java-applicationsI won't be able to use Page Flow Controller and the XML Pipeline at all.
Most of our forms have multiple pages, and it needs to run like a
wizard.. (just like turbotax, if you know this)...the logic for
branching is pretty
complex. You will be redirect to a different page (or a different set
of questions), if you give certain
answers to certain questions.
Also, the rules change from time to time...(typical users, they don't
know what they want...) So, it's kind of hard to wrap all the page
flow logic in each xform page.
Also, how to persist the data instance across different pages without
PFC is a problem as well.
I was trying to use spring webflow to replace orbeon's PFC. However,
this doesn't work out so far, because, orbeon-xform-filter is
listening on /xforms-jsp/*, and spring webflow can only resolve to a
specific view, but not forward the request to a different url after
it's done with its own logic.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
I was thinking either merge the spring app with orbeon, so I can use
orbeon's PFC, or implement something like PFC using Drools and Spring
MVC controller...
Thanks in advance,
Jiang
