Hi,
I'm not sure whether this has changed in more recent versions, but I've noticed that controls in section templates in the latest stable build, don't have the same meta-settings as in the library (such as read-only, email subject, etc). Koen,
Do you mean that if a control is read-only in the library form, it doesn't stay readonly when included into another form? Do you have a specific example? -Erik

Hi Erik,
Yes , that's about what I mean: I add a control to a section in the library form, and set it as read-only there. It's readonly on the published library form, (which isn't very useful :-) ), but not in forms where the template section is reused. I guess most of the stuff you can change by clicking the little red round exclamation mark icon, or the gear icon (which has "Show in Email Subject"), is not taken into account in the receiving form. How easy/difficult would it be to simply add such a modified control to the builder's list of controls, instead of using a template? Thanks, Koen Vanderkimpen Koen, Do you mean that if a control is read-only in the library form, it doesn't stay readonly when included into another form? Koen,
I have entered an issue to track the readonly problem: It shouldn't be too hard to add a modify control, because each control can come with its markup template. The options associated with the control (email, etc.) are represented as CSS classes on the control.
You can see the <template> elements for example in this file: I haven't tried putting a class attribute on a control in a template, but it should work (if not, it's a bug). -Erik

Koen,
I tried this with 4.0 M5 and the readonly control seems to behave as expected. For now I'll close that issue. -Erik
