problem using upload control when submitting towards a model

vineeth joyson
I am using an upload control for reading the binary content of a file at the
same time i want to submit the page to a model and replace a particular
instance with the ouput from the model. so i use the replace attribute's
value as instance. At that time i am getting only the path of the file. what
should i do to get the file in the model??

Re: problem using upload control when submitting towards a model

Henrik Pettersen
Vineeth,

If I understand your question right, you are trying to read the
contents of the uploaded file on the server side? Please find attached
an example XPL of how I did it.

Hope that helps.

Re: problem using upload control when submitting towards a model

Henrik Pettersen
Vineeth,

perhaps you could send an example with what you are trying to do? What
is the purpose/content of the file? What other data are you sending?

Also, to ensure we are not talking across purposes, what is your
definition of the word "model"? Here is one:
http://www.w3schools.com/xforms/xforms_model.asp

Vineeth,
It is not currently possible to use @replace="instance" with an
xforms:upload control

Vineeth,

This is a known current limitation of upload: you can't use
replace="instance" or replace="none". But if everything goes well, this
will be improved shortly. Adrian has also nicely summarized the issues here:

   http://mail-archive.objectweb.org/ops-users/2006-10/msg00333.html

Until that's implemented, you can only use replace="all" to submit
uploaded files.
