postbacks optimization

Zdeněk Hřib-2

Hello,

I would like to ask if it is possible to turn off some of the obviously unnecesssary XML requests in the background done by the ajax engine. For example: if the field has no validation, is it really necessary to make a XML data transfer to the server and back in case of moving focus out of the field ? The users of my application will be working over a slow connection – dial-up or GPRS, where the network latency is high so I would like to archive better user experience.

Thanx

Zdenek

Zdenek,

Currently, this is not possible.

But in theory, yes, this would be a great optimization to implement in
Orbeon Forms.
