oxf:pdf-template processor (again)

Alexander Žaťko
What PDF library is the oxf:pdf-template processor using? I am
wondering if it is capable of creating a multi-page PDF from a
single-page PDF template? Optionally, is the processor capable of
combining multiple PDF files into a single multi-page one?

Thanks

Alex,

We are using the iText library:

   http://www.lowagie.com/iText/

I believe you should be able to do that with that library, and it should
even be quite easy.

What would be best would be to improve on the existing oxf:pdf-template
processor, or create another processor that could be included in OPS.
Feel free to post related questions in ops-users.

Erik,

The library capabilities look pretty good. When you build the processor
- did you address a particular need that you had at that time (exposing
only a limited set of functions the library implements)? From the PDF
template example it seems like the processor can currently do only text
placement into a particular place of an existing PDF file and set font
family and size of the text.

Correct, the intent was not to create an "iText" processor, but a
specific processor to place text over a PDF template, which in fact is a
very useful and generic functionality.
