invisible content included in posted XML

Håvard Nesvold2

Hi everyone.

I have a field in my form which may or may not be shown based on some other input in the form (this is done with the ‘visibility’ expression on the particular field).

Upon submitting the form; reviewing it or looking at the generated pdf of the submitted data correctly excludes the hidden field.

However, when configuring the system to POST the form XML to a specified URI (using the oxf.fr.detail.send.uri property) as part of the workflow-send functionality, any values entered in any fields which are evaluated as invisible are indeed included in the XML form data.

I’m not really sure if it is intended this way or not; but is there a way to exclude any values entered in fields which are invisible?

Thanks for all help,

-Håvard

Håvard,

There is a discrepancy so it seems.

But is it not the opposite? I haven't had time to actually verify
this, but I see in the code that:

* saving the data to the database should keep non-visible nodes
* sending to a URL should prune them

Re: Re: invisible content included in posted XML

Erik,

for me (using the most recent nightly build (22. August)), it is so that any invisible fields are indeed included in the submitted XML as described in my original post (together with any values if first entered before being evaluated as invisible).
Please verify this on your end - this may rule out my setup somehow being erroneous :)

Thanks,
Håvard

Re: Re: invisible content included in posted XML

Håvard Nesvold
I've tried this now also using the stable 3.8 release, and the invisible content is, correctly, not included in the posted XML for that release.
