Why is it that if ...
- I create a test form.xhtml in Form Builder - edit this form.xhtml code in an external editor (e.g. add scripts) - create a blank form in Form Builder - paste my edited form.xhtml into "Edit Source" in this new form - Save and Test and Publish I can see the expected layout of form.xhtml in Form Runner .. Form Preview but this Test view is not reflected back into Form Builder or Publish ? i.e. I can't seem to "reverse engineer" an imported form.xhtml so that it is reconstituted as controls in Form Builder through "Edit Source". |

DL,
Sorry but I have no idea what you are asking ;) -Erik On Tue, Jun 5, 2012 at 6:28 AM, DL <[hidden email]> wrote: > Why is it that if ... > > - I create a test form.xhtml in Form Builder > - edit this form.xhtml code in an external editor (e.g. add scripts) > - create a blank form in Form Builder > - paste my edited form.xhtml into "Edit Source" in this new form > - Save and Test and Publish > > I can see the expected layout of form.xhtml in Form Runner .. Sorry if I'm not clear. Basically .. can I start a brand new xform in Form Builder and paste in a previously created form definition via Toolbox > Advanced > Edit Source? That's what I describe as "reverse engineering". i.e. Using only Edit Source to import a form definition template instead of starting from scratch by adding components from the Toolbox. |

DL,
Yes, you should be able to do that - in fact we do it all the time. But of course you can't just paste anything into the builder, what you paste has to be compatible with the format expected by Form Builder. -Erik On Tue, Jun 5, 2012 at 11:07 AM, DL <[hidden email]> wrote: > <quote. > Sorry but I have no idea what you are asking ;) > </quote> > > Sorry if I'm not clear. > Basically .. can I start a brand new xform in Form Builder and paste in a > previously created > form definition via Toolbox > Advanced > Edit Source? > > That's what I describe as "reverse engineering". > i.e. Using only Edit Source to import a form definition > instead of adding components from the Toolbox. > > > > -- > View this message in context: http://orbeon-forms-ops-users.24843.n4.nabble.com/importing-external-form-xhtml-into-Form-Builder-via-Edit-Source-tp4655195p4655201.html > Sent from the Orbeon Forms (ops-users) mailing list archive at Nabble.com. > > > -- > You receive this message as a subscriber of the [hidden email] mailing list. > To unsubscribe: mailto:[hidden email] > For general help: mailto:[hidden email]?subject=help > OW2 mailing lists service home page: http://www.ow2.org/wws > -- You receive this message as a subscriber of the [hidden email] mailing list.
