"got unexpected request sequence number" .. error message

Above error message received in debugging an error return from a test SOAP submission
(to NDFD weather service).

What does this message mean?

Description: reading processor output
name → response
id → xforms-response

XML Element: <p:output name="response" id="xforms-response"/>

It means the client (JS in the browser) and server became
desynchronized for some reason. The client sends requests to the
server sequentially, and for most operations, the server checks the
sequence number.
