from xforms 1.1

gerard calliet
Hello,

Do you plan implementation of mode=synchronous attribute for submission
element (xforms 1.1 § 4.1.4) ?

And, if so, have you an agenda for this ?

It could be usefull for the work I'm just beginning. I was thinking
about workarounds to get synchronism, but it would be better using
standards.

At some point, yes, since we plan to implement all of XForms 1.1
over time.

However, right now we implement something close from the synchronous
mode, in that until submission has completed no further action can
take place. What we don't do is support the @mode flag and block
entirely user interaction. So there is work to do to support the
synchronous mode completely.

But there is also work to do to support the asynchronous mode
completely, since we always wait until the submission has completed to
perform further actions.

So currently, it looks like we implement something inbetween.

No, except that it's not going to be before Orbeon Forms 3.5 final
unless somebody pays us to work on it ;-)
