event 'xforms-select ' doesn't seem to work in 3.5M1

I have following test code.

<f:select1 ref="test">
<f:choices>
<f:item>
<f:label>cash</f:label>
<f:value>cash</f:value>
<f:message level='modal' ev:event='xforms-select'>Cash</f:message>
</f:item>
<f:item>
<f:label>CC</f:label>
<f:value>cc</f:value>
<f:message level='modal' ev:event='xforms-select'>CC</f:message>
</f:item>
</f:choices>
</f:select1>

Nothing happens in OPS 3.5M1 when selecting one of the items, while this is working as expected in other XForms environment.

Is this a known issue or am I missing something?

Yes, this is a known bug:

You may be able to work around this by using the xforms-value-change
event and conditional actions?
