Thanks for the update. We should certainly update to 1.4.2.
But please note that the built-in eXist is not meant to be used for
deployment. We always recommend setting up an external database. See
in particular:
http://wiki.orbeon.com/forms/doc/developer-guide/exist-configuration3.9 (released a year ago) no longer uses the built-in eXist at all for
the XForms engine, which means that if you setup an external eXist
database for Form Runner, you are completely independent from the
built-in eXists database.
The customized XML parser is still required.
