content not shown when forwarding to jsp view

Håvard Nesvold2

Hi everyone

I’m using the workflow-submit functionality and I have now mapped up a servlet to handle the submitted XML.

After the XML has been handled by the servlet, i am doing a forward to a jsp which serves as my view.

(I’m doing this using the getServletConfig().getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher(..) in my servlet).

My jsp view file is something like this:

<xhtml:html xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:xforms="http://www.w3.org/2002/xforms" >

    <xhtml:head>

        <xhtml:title>Thank you</xhtml:title>

    </xhtml:head>

    <xhtml:body>

        <xhtml:h2>Thank you</xhtml:h2>

         Text here

    </xhtml:body>

</xhtml:html>

The contents of my jsp used to be shown correctly when mapping the workflow-send property to directly access my jsp file,

However, when mapping up my servlet (which just in the end forwards to the same jsp), nothing is shown on the page after submitting the form. I am certain that the jsp is being executed as adding scriptlets to the jsp results in them being run. It’s just that the page is totally blank!

Does anyone have a clue why this is happening? It would be nice to handle the submitted XML in a java servlet and not in a jsp, and then handling all the view-stuff with a jsp + jstl.

Regards,

-Håvard

Re: content not shown when forwarding to jsp view

This turned out to be because and xml directive accidentally was included in the output which was run by the xforms engine. Case closed!
