'a-little-off-topic-question' is there any reason 4 no content in exist-data directory?

richhl
I'm trying my orbeon app as portlet lep 5.0.1 and orbeon 3.6...that portlet app needs some configuration data stored in a xml database.

I've done this:

-Startup tomcat with liferay and orbeon in 'machine1'.
-Launch exist java client from my desktop machine, 'machine2', and access remotely exist in 'machine1' url xmldb:exist://machine1:8080/orbeon/exist/xmlrpc
-Load the configuration data that my app needs to 'machine2' with that client. All looks good, the orbeon portlet reachs the data but !!I SEE NO FILES in orbeon/WEB-INF/exist-data!!
-In subsequents restarts of tomcat, i lose all loaded data...

don't know if I explained myself properly..if not, please let me know...

greetings,

rich

What portal server are you using? Is this happening as well when you
deploy Orbeon Forms as a web application (instead of a portlet)? Do
you see any error in the eXist logs? Can you write to eXist with the
eXist client (e.g. create a document, run a query)?
