This is a very interesting topic.
Currently Orbeon Forms doesn't support XBL (not to be confused with
XPL...). But XBL is one option we are contemplating to support
reusable components. We may or may not go that way after all.
This is not going to be in 3.7 for sure. As for when, we can't promise
anything.
We are currently thinking about how to implement some higher-level
components for a project. We don't yet know whether this will end up
being natively supported by the XForms engine at this point, or
whether this will be implemented on top of the XForms engine. In the
longer term, we think that this should be native functionality.
