What could be the possible problems when mass renaming controls, section grids in Orbeon?

Hi all,

Do the names of controls in Orbeon have to include the orbeon names "control, grid, section, iteration etc."

Currently, in my form I have names generated by Orbeon in many places, such as: control-1, control-2, grid-7, grid-8-iteration etc.

Can you adopt my own naming convention for controls, grids, sections and it won't affect the form or any problems during migration? The form is not yet in the production phase.

I know that every change within a section overrides the xpath formula, but what other potential problems may be if I would like to massively rename controls, grids, sections through direct XML editing?

Somewhere in the documentation was written about it, but now I can't find it. Could someone please send me the link?

Hi Vlad,

You can change those names through the Form Builder UI, for instance, for
controls, from the Control Settings dialog. You can assume that any change
you can do from the Form Builder UI is "legit", and that you can do the same
changes directly by editing the source of the form if you'd like. And you'll
let me know if I misunderstood your question.
