Sending different emails to user/admin

Hi,

Currently investigating the latest version of Orbeon (2018.2.2), and I'm looking for a way of using the built-in email functionality to send multiple templates that can be configured for different recipients in form builder on a per-form basis.

For example, we have situations where we need a confirmation email that is sent to the form user with some basic data, and also need a different template to be sent to an internal admin team to deal with the form data.

Ideally we would also be able to select whether the email would attach the PDF or not.

I don't think there is a current way of doing this, although I know there are a few tickets for enhancing email functionality. Would be interested if there were any suggested temporary workarounds for achieving this.

My apologies for the delay; somehow I thought I had answered your message
already. I think that what you're asking is calling for RFE #3912 to be
implemented (see link below). You'll let me know if that RFE sounds like it
matches your requirement.

Sorry for late reply.

Yes, I think that is effectively what I'm looking for. Multiple templates per form, and then some way of assigning who gets which template (user gets template A, admin email to template B).

At the moment I'm looking for the best workaround to achieve the same thing.

Hi Dave,

I've already added a +1 from you on that RFE. There aren't any easy
workarounds; this is really a feature that we would need to implement. You
could "of course" send the data to a service you implement on your own, and
do all the handling of the email templates and sending on your own, but I
imagine that this isn't what you're looking for.

If having this feature would really move the needle for you, I'd recommend
you contact us through your Basecamp.
