Hi Matthias,

Sorry for the trouble! This is something we'd like to take care of as soon as we can after the 4.0 release. Most people find they can't undeploy a form without having to fiddle directly with data in the database. Once we have this capability in Form Builder (i.e. when viewing a form in Form Builder, to be able to undeploy it), we also need to make that for published forms, you can only save it under a new name, but can't rename it, as this would get you in that situation where you have a published form for a given app/name, but no corresponding editable form.

I also took a few notes about this on the issue linked below, so we don't forget about it when the time to implement this comes:

In an experiment I messed up an old form which was published and had its'
name change afterwards and was republished with a new application name.

The old url was still accessible but showed the new form instead. The old
form pretty much disappeared from the builders' summary page. Which created
a "lost" form in a way: accessible but unchangeable/undeletable from the
builder.

Orbeon Forms 4.3 now has the ability to unpublish and republish forms directly from the Form Runner Home page.

Related, Orbeon Forms 4.4 will have the ability to publish forms to a remote production server. (This is already implemented but won't make it in 4.3.)
