Hi Victor,
Inside the <xforms:submission> that calls your servlet, try to define
an <xforms:action ev:event="xforms-submit-error"> that handles the
case where there is an error. Inside that you can access the body of
the HTML error page returned by your servlet in XPath with
event('body').
<xforms:submission>
<xforms:action ev:event="xforms-submit-error">
<xforms:setvalue ref="..." value="event('body')"/>
</xforms:action>
</xforms:submission>
