Refresh of modified content only after restarting Tomcat

patrick.seiffert
Hi there.

I just started using OPS on Tomcat 5.1.
When I tried my first "Hello World" example using PFC and so on I was satisfied seeing a page displaying my result. So I thought "ok, works fine".

But when I modified the text (by the way - it is a simple, static xhtml-site) into "Hello Mainz" it didn't work. Still "Hello World" was shown on the browser-output.

Only after I restarted the Tomcat and called the page again the updated content was shown.

How come?

Is this a Tomcat or a OPS concern?

How can I solve this refreshment-prob? Are there any configurations I can tune?

Regards,
Patrick

Patrick,

OPS reloads resources as needed and there is no configuration to
perform. You do not need to restart Tomcat to get changes taken into
account, whether those are changes to a page flow, XForms page, XSLT
stylesheet, XML pipeline, etc.

I think people have noticed some rare glitches when using the webapp
resource manager: this can happens when you make a change to a file and
then very quickly reload the page in the browser. But if you then make
another change a wait a little bit (at least 1-2 seconds), the change
should be taken into account.
