hard to say without knowing your code and without any error messages. did you
use firebug to debug your code? Any messages on the javascript console?

Also you might have problems calling this when the page is loaded, try calling it on the xforms-ready script instead

yes it is there even if i change like this im not getting any error but value wont change
 
ORBEON.xforms.Document.getValue works but  
 
ORBEON.xforms.Document.setValue doesnot works

hmm - is the control a xforms:input or a xforms:output? Again, how does the
source of your xforms page look like? You can't expect fast help if you don't
give essential information about the issue...
