Hi Erik
I was trying to run the blog admin with Safari 1.2.4. You've probably built the blog admin with xforms so I should have known better! I installed the Sep 1 nightly build and using Firefox I was able to create a user. When I tried to create a blog, it seemed like a script was continually erroring my user name. Is the xforms javascript running off to the server to verify the name? Seems odd since I am selecting from a drop down list that the server created While I don't think it needs to make this check, I have another thought that you might be using tomcat realms to validate users? Obviously not a check made when I added the user. This is a new install of Tomcat 5.5.7 and I have not done anything to Tomcat's user configuration. Hi Colin,
You mean that the "Blog Owner" dropdown is constantly invalid, right? This is now fixed. The problem was just a UI problem: there is only one selectable element in the list, which doesn't match the current blank value in the XForms instance. So the value is blank and incorrect, but there is no way to change it when there is only one element in the dropdown! -Erik Colin O'Brien wrote: > Hi Erik > > I was trying to run the blog admin with Safari 1.2.4. > You've probably built the blog admin with xforms so I should have known > better! > > I installed the Sep 1 nightly build and using Firefox I was able to > create a user. > When I tried to create a blog, it seemed like a script was continually > erroring my user name. > > Is the xforms javascript running off to the server to verify the name? > Seems odd since I am selecting from a drop down list that the server > created > > While I don't think it needs to make this check, > I have another thought that you might be using tomcat realms to validate > users? > Obviously not a check made when I added the user. > This is a new install of Tomcat 5.5.7 and I have not done anything to > Tomcat's user configuration. > > Thanks & regards > Colin > > > On Aug 31, 2005, at 2:45 PM, Erik Bruchez wrote: > >> Hi Colin, >> >> This is weird: adding a user definitely works for me, even with an >> empty eXist db.
