Welcome to list <a href="/user/SendEmail.jtp?type=node&node=1753410&i=0" target="_top" rel="nofollow" link="external">[hidden email]</a>

Hi,

I’m new to the Orbeon Form builder and have a question on how to combine forms, that are built with the form builder and deployed to the form runner,  with xforms that are created outside the form builder. E.g. having my own pageflow.xml refer to forms that are deployed to the form runner. I scanned through all FAQ’s but cannot find anything on a xform structure that is created without the form builder to cooperate with form created and maintained by the form builder. Am I looking for the impossible here….or is there a way to do this ?

Regards,

Edwin

Hi Edwin,

I don't see any reason you would not be able to mix the
two kinds of forms, and you certainly can mix many of
the FormRunner controls in regular forms.  I don't know
what, if any, example does this.

Using a web server might make some url-rewriting go a
little easier, but page-flow does let you match urls and
take actions accordingly.

I will be trying this out in a month or so.

Cheers,
Hank

Edwin,

Also, you might have seen that Form Runner comes with its own page
flow, so you don't have to write one. The Form Runner page flow is in
apps/fr/page-flow.xml. It will respond to request on specific paths,
but if you don't like those paths, you can write your own page flow,
based on what you find in the apps/fr/page-flow.xml so you can
configure the paths on which your forms are deployed (convention over
configuration). Does this make sense?
