You can remove buttons by changing a property (see:
http://wiki.orbeon.com/forms/doc/developer-guide/configuration-properties#TOC-Buttons-on-Detail-Page).
Buttons are implemented in XForms, so you can add your own buttons by
customizing the code of Form Runner and adding an implementation for
your own buttons.

Responding to user's actions (value changed, page load...) and
performing call to services that return data and in turn update
information on the page. For instance, you could dynamically populate
a 2nd drop-down based on the value entered by the user in a 1st
drop-down, with data coming back from a database. Do you have a
