Override disabled buttons

Shaw, Richard A
Override disabled buttons

If I set constraints on the input boxes of a form the buttons are disabled while a red exclamation mark is displayed. In the example below the button with an M on it (to be changed later) is for selecting the origin or destination from a map instead of typing it in the box, I want these buttons to work without entering anything in the box, I only want the GO button disabled.

Is there any way to do this ?

No that doesn't help.

My problem is that the user can press the M button at all times (as I want) but OPS will not process the action if there are errors on the page. I want the button to be processed because it is going to help the user remove the errors on the page (i.e. allow them to select an origin or destination from a map in this example).

Thanks

Richard,
What does the M button do? a submission? If so have you got validate="false" on your submission, this will make sure OPS ignores all the validation errors

The first question to answer is: are you happy with the fact that your
input fields are marked invalid (because I think that the question mark
is related to the input field, not the button). If not, that's the first
issue to solve.

If you are still happy with that, the second question to answer is what
do you do (what actions do you execute) when the user presses a button?
