There is a "mediatype" parameter for the xforms:output control which can be set to "text/html". Here is the documentation:

Subject: [ops-users] Output text in html
Hi,
What are my options here?
I checked the textoutput controls which do exactly what you'd expect, except
they don't format text with html like * / etc.
The HTML controls does that but I don't want to show the whole text editor
to customers.
I just want to display some instruction text (up to 10 rows for a medical
form ) with simple formating of text.
So basically how do I show the html-text control without the editor?
regards,
Matthias
