Orbeon Forms Tutorial - Error at step 5.3

Michael Moore-14
I have been trying to follow the Orbeon Forms Tutorial in the most
recent nightly builds and encountered trouble within the Bookcast
tutorial at step 5.3. Pardon my uninformed error reporting, as I am
not well educated on Orbeon or XForms (hence the tutorial).

In the Orbeon Tutorial at the end of step 5.3, the reader is
instructed to insert an xforms:model in the head of a standard XHTML
document which was created and tested in step 5.2, then reload to see
that there is no change (actually, the documentation says "You should
still see a blank page", but the document should contain "Hello!").
The contents of the document at this stage is attached as "view.xhtml".

In current nightly build versions of Orbeon XForms (including
orbeon-3.7.0beta1+.200903070126), this generates an error. A PDF of
the errors returned is attached, as I am not certain how to interpret
them.

I have discovered that this error occurs whenever an XForms model is
inserted in a document where no XForms markup is present in the body
of the document. Adding an XForms element (such as substituting
<xforms:output value="'Hello!'"/> for the "Hello!" text) resolves the
error. (The contents of a working version with this change is attached
as "view-corrected.xhmtl"

I am going to try to continue with the tutorial, but wanted to report
my difficulty.

Thanks,

-Michael D. Moore

This is a known problem in the current nightly builds. Getting this
fixed is one of our 3 top-priority bugs.  I have included a ling to
the bug report for reference below. In the meantime, you can put a
simple XForms control in the view to avoid this problem (a simple
<xforms:group/> will do it).
