I have a requirement to monitor a long running server job (XQuery against
eXist) initiated from a Orbeon XForm. Looking around the Orbeon Wiki I found this http://wiki.orbeon.com/forms/projects/incremental-upload, & in particular the section "Additional feature: progress monitoring". This seems exactly what I'm looking for, so I wonder since this seems to be a plan for December 2010 what is the planned rollout? Failing this as a strategy for moving forward has anyone got an example of having a client monitor & long running server job, and adjust a progress bar, with the option to cancel? -- You receive this message as a subscriber of the [hidden email] mailing list. This is being implemented right now and should be done for the end of the year.
But it will work only for uploads, and I am not sure it's the same as what you are looking for. -Erik On Wed, Dec 8, 2010 at 8:55 PM, <[hidden email]> wrote: > I have a requirement to monitor a long running server job (XQuery against > eXist) initiated from a Orbeon XForm. Thanks for the quick response Eric. So the section in that document titled "Additional feature: progress monitoring" will not be implemented by the end of the year? If not, is it scheduled to be done relatively soon?
Cheers, Mark

Mark,
The "progress monitoring" feature is a progress bar for file uploads, just that. So yes it's planned to be implemented soon, but it doesn't sound like it's what you are looking for. -Erik On Thu, Dec 9, 2010 at 8:37 PM, Mark Jones <[hidden email]> wrote: > Thanks for the quick response Eric.
