Menu Problem

Ryan Puddephatt
All,
This is a formatting problem on the menu, the red ! seem to be showing above the menu when it drops down. This is probably just a zindex, but I wasn't sure which to change

Thanks

Re: Menu Problem

Ryan,

I never thought about having the value selected by the menu being
invalid. I am wondering if we should even display the red ! for menus.
When using a menu, users don't feel like they are selecting the value
(like in a select/select1), but rather taking some action (like when
clicking on a button). Adding a visual clue that tells them "what you
just selected in the menu is invalid" is kind of clunky. Maybe if an
entry is not valid, it should not be there in the menu in the first
place?

I suggest we fix this by removing the red ! for menus. What do you think?

RE: Menu Problem

Alex,
I don't think I was clear in my original email, reading it again.
The red ! Are actually on other controls in the page, but when expanding the
menu it overlaps these controls, with the ! Showing through rather than
being hidden behind.

I've attached a screenshot that could show this better

Ryan,

A screenshot is worth a thousand words! Now, I can't seem to be able
to reproduce that. See menu.xhtml attached. You can run it in the
XForms sandbox. Also see the attached screenshots.

Ryan,

I thought for a second, after sending my previous email in this
thread, that this might be an IE-only bug. But like you say, it works
fine with IE as well.
