Logging broken in default configuration?

Hi list,

the default logging settings of Orbeon set the logfile to "../logs/orbeon.log".
I can however not find any logfile anywhere - only after changing the path to
/var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/orbeon/logs/orbeon.log, I would get any logging
information. Now, I wonder, is there a better way - setting an absolute path
makes the whole configuration depend too much on my local system. eXist is
using some special variable here, so I can write ${exist.home}/webapp/WEB-
INF/logs/exist.log, is there something similar for Orbeon?
I am using Orbeon CE 3.8.

Ralf,

There is nothing similar at the moment.

The relative path was attempt at partially solving this issue, but obviously it only works if you start Tomcat from the "right" directory.
