I am trying to install Orbeon on my Vista machine. I have tomcat running
(http://localhost:8080/), however when I try to run orbeon (http://localhost:8080/orbeon) I get a HTTP STATUS 404. It basically says that orbeon is not there. In my Webapps folder I have orbeon and then in orbeon I have orbeon.war. Any ideas? |
Restart vista, restart Tomcat and test orbeon. If it does not work,
start from scratch: stop Tomcat, delete orbeon.war and orbeon folder, re-start Tomcat, deploy orbeon, reboot everything. That worked for me. BTW, check Tomcat logs. Restarting doesn't seem to help.
This is the error I am getting: type Status report message /orbeon/ description The requested resource (/orbeon/) is not available. and my logs Oct 17, 2008 9:29:08 AM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext log INFO: org.apache.webapp.balancer.BalancerFilter: init(): ruleChain: [org.apache.webapp.balancer.RuleChain: [org.apache.webapp.balancer.rules.URLStringMatchRule: Target string: News / Redirect URL: http://www.cnn.com], [org.apache.webapp.balancer.rules.RequestParameterRule: Target param name: paramName / Target param value: paramValue / Redirect URL: http://www.yahoo.com], [org.apache.webapp.balancer.rules.AcceptEverythingRule: Redirect URL: http://jakarta.apache.org]] Oct 17, 2008 9:29:09 AM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext log INFO: ContextListener: contextInitialized() Oct 17, 2008 9:29:09 AM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext log INFO: SessionListener: contextInitialized() Oct 17, 2008 9:29:10 AM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext log INFO: ContextListener: contextInitialized() Oct 17, 2008 9:29:10 AM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext log INFO: SessionListener: contextInitialized() Oct 17, 2008 9:31:01 AM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext log INFO: SessionListener: contextDestroyed() Oct 17, 2008 9:31:01 AM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext log INFO: ContextListener: contextDestroyed() Oct 17, 2008 9:31:01 AM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext log INFO: SessionListener: contextDestroyed() Oct 17, 2008 9:31:01 AM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext log INFO: ContextListener: contextDestroyed() Oct 17, 2008 9:42:01 AM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext log INFO: org.apache.webapp.balancer.BalancerFilter: init(): ruleChain: [org.apache.webapp.balancer.RuleChain: [org.apache.webapp.balancer.rules.URLStringMatchRule: Target string: News / Redirect URL: http://www.cnn.com], [org.apache.webapp.balancer.rules.RequestParameterRule: Target param name: paramName / Target param value: paramValue / Redirect URL: http://www.yahoo.com], [org.apache.webapp.balancer.rules.AcceptEverythingRule: Redirect URL: http://jakarta.apache.org]] Oct 17, 2008 9:42:02 AM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext log INFO: ContextListener: contextInitialized() Oct 17, 2008 9:42:02 AM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext log INFO: SessionListener: contextInitialized() Oct 17, 2008 9:42:03 AM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext log INFO: ContextListener: contextInitialized() Oct 17, 2008 9:42:03 AM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext log INFO: SessionListener: contextInitialized() Any help would be appreciated.

It took me a while to figuring out Vista... Have you set your
tomcat-users.xml file correctly? If you can access your manager, it should be OK. I changed the host in server.xml to "localhost" (http://localhost/orbeon/) which appears to have solved port issues. Vista has an administrator option you can turn off in "users" - that may help, too. We deployed orbeon.war latest nightly builds numerous times lately without any difficulties. -- einar -- You receive this message as a subscriber of the [hidden email] mailing list. Are there any errors in the Tomcat standard output or in other Tomcat
logs? Anyway, orbeon.war should end up being unzipped under webapps/orbeon. So you should have directories like: webapps/ orbeon/ WEB-INF/ ... ... -Erik On Oct 16, 2008, at 10:47 AM, orbeonX wrote: > > I am trying to install Orbeon on my Vista machine.
