Hello everyone,
I had trouble following the instructions for installing Orbeon under Tomcat. I'm using Tomcat 6.0.16, and the instructions are for Tomcat 5.x.
Thanks for any help, -Jim -- You receive this message as a subscriber of the [hidden email] mailing list. To unsubscribe: mailto:[hidden email] For general help: mailto:[hidden email]?subject=help OW2 mailing lists service home page: http://www.ow2.org/wws |
BTW, I just tried to literally "Unzip orbeon.war in the ops
directory" (as opposed to my original interpretation of unzipping the
war file from the distribution zip file into the ops
directory), and that doesn't work any better.

I just discovered that the latest Firefox 3 beta is the culprit. For
some reason, FF 3 works with orbeon.com, but not with localhost, even
in safe mode! Internet Explorer and Firefox 2 work fine.
Any idea what the difference between orbeon.com and localhost could be? Has anyone else tried FF 3? Thanks, -Jim Jim Logan wrote: BTW, I just tried to literally "Unzip orbeon.war in the ops directory" (as opposed to my original interpretation of unzipping the war file from the distribution zip file into the ops directory), and that doesn't work any better. -- You receive this message as a subscriber of the [hidden email] mailing list. Jim,
We have been using FF 3.0b4 for many weeks. Are you using a nightly build or 3.6? There were issues with 3.6 which have since been fixed. -Erik On Apr 30, 2008, at 5:07 PM, Jim Logan wrote: > I just discovered that the latest Firefox 3 beta is the culprit. Currently you will find those fixes in nightly builds, so I am not surprised you have this issue with an older version. There is some confusion: we were asking about the version of Orbeon
Forms you are using. -Erik On Apr 30, 2008, at 7:26 PM, Jim Logan wrote: > Alessandro Vernet wrote: >> Jim, >> >> On Wed, Apr 30, 2008 at 7:05 PM, Jim Logan <[hidden email]> >> wrote: >> >>> I'm using 3.0b5. >>> >> >> The issues with FF 3 have been fixed after 3.6. Anyway, with 3.6, Firefox 3.0b has issues, which have since been fixed. You can try a nightly build from here and see if that helps: http://forge.objectweb.org/nightlybuilds/ops/ops/ -Erik -- Orbeon Forms - Web Forms for the Enterprise Done the Right Way http://www.orbeon.com/ -- You receive this message as a subscriber of the [hidden email] mailing list. I did get that working with FF 3b5, although I had to play around with the war file to get it to work within Tomcat 6. I think the installation instructions could use an update for Tomcat 6. The installation instructions say to put the war file into an "ops" folder, but it doesn't work -- I get a 404 error, even though the Tomcat management page says there's an "ops" application deployed. I got it to work by dropping the war file into the "webapps" directory and letting Tomcat deploy it as "orbeon". For some reason I had to do that twice before it would work. Maybe I tryied to load the page before the app was completely deployed the first time, I'm not sure. -Jim -- You receive this message as a subscriber of the [hidden email] mailing list. Yes, the installation instruction incorrectly refers to "ops", as the war file used to be named ops.war. That should read "orbeon" instead. This misnomer in the documentation is understandably confusing! This is now fixed. Thanks for letting us know.
