Maybe this is a zindex issue, when the Font selection shows below the dialog.

Interesting, I had never seen that issue before :). At this point we
are using the FCK editor, which is quite complicated, has a number of
problems, and doesn't always work that well with YUI. We are planning
to switch to the YUI RTE editor at some point, which should fix those
issues.
In the meantime, if you are in the mood for doing some JavaScript
programming you can either try to debug those issues yourself, or
change the code to use the YUI RTE. Otherwise, you can try to change
your UI so the editor is shown in a dialog.
