Mostly, OPS is an XML "bus" and whatever code you run must
emit XML, even if as a side effect.  There  is an ExecProcessor
that allows you to execute a whole process.  There is
also a delegation processor that allows you to execute a
method of a JavaBean.  And finally (?) there is the JavaProcessor
that lets you execute a method from any POJO. Oh, you can
also write your own pipeline.
 
So, although the XML Pipeline Language that oversees execution
must receive results/responses in XML, you can execute almost
any code.
