This looks great. Exactly what I was thinking as I looked at the work-arounds - too much markup in the document, that's a problem. Is this planned in to a release / currently being developed? /r |

Russ,
Do you mean as part of Form Runner? If so, it's not currently developed. As for when, see the last two bullets of this FAQ entry ;) "When are you going to fix/implement feature foobar?" http://wiki.orbeon.com/forms/orbeon-forms-faq/faq-orbeon-forms-support#TOC-When-are-you-going-to-fix-implement -Erik On Mon, Nov 1, 2010 at 11:28 AM, rdanner <[hidden email]> wrote: > > http://wiki.orbeon.com/forms/how-to/external-validation > > This looks great. Heh :)
I totally get the, it's open source, fix it model :) I was just curious if it was already earmarked or being developed. I think the suggested approach is right on. The work-around of having a lot of additional markup in the model fouls up the model and there's just not great way to do it cleanly. Also it seems like it gets messy from a lifecycle perspective if things are not all worked out. on the other hand making sure validation happens on the right kind of events, and sending a validation markup back and forth that doesn't actually overwrite the main model seems dead on. |

Russ,
Thanks for reviewing that proposal. We have another one about integration in Form Builder/Form Runner which is a bit different: http://wiki.orbeon.com/forms/projects/form-runner-builder/external-validation -Erik On Mon, Nov 1, 2010 at 8:45 PM, rdanner <[hidden email]> wrote: > > Heh :) > > I totally get the, it's open source, fix it model :) I was just curious if > it was already earmarked or being developed. > > I think the suggested approach is right on.
