Exception when properties-prod.xml is in config folder

Hi All,

I am new to Orbeon and now having some confusion around setting properties.

Build: 2017.2.201712300816 CE
Environment: Tomcat 8, Java 8, Mac OS

According to the documentation, I can use properties-local.xml. However, the
properties aren't picked up so I proceed to use properties-prod.xml instead.

So I copy properties-local-dev.xml.template as properties-prod.xml. Without
any changes to the template, I hit an error when loading the first page.

At "http://localhost:8080/orbeon/home/", I can only see "An error has
occurred while processing the request."

And then looking at the log, I see quite a big stacktrace, see attached
stacktrace.txt <http://discuss.orbeon.com/file/t375649/stacktrace.txt>  

I suspect that there is an update to how Orbeon can be configured and the
document is not yet up to date. Or maybe I'm just being a complete noob....
Hoping someone could point me to the right direction.

First, properties-local.xml should definitely be picked up unless some other
file overrides it somewhere. This could happen if you have a custom resource
manager configuration in web.xml.

properties-prod.xml should definitely not be touched or overridden. If you
have to, use instead properties-local-prod.xml.
