Editable select/select1?

Stephanie Hall (TT)

Hi,

In the archives I saw that as of 2007 there was no support for editable comboboxes in OPS.  Has any progress been made on it since then?  Or are there plans to work on it in the near future?

Thanks,

Stephanie

Stephanie,

By "editable comboboxes", what do you mean exactly? One to which the
user can add values?

Hi Erik,

Yes, that is exactly what I mean. I want to be able to add values if they're not already in the select dropdown.

Thanks,
Stephanie

Stephanie,

Would the fr:autocomplete component work for you by any chance? See:

RE: Re: RE: Re: Editable select/select1?

Stephanie Hall (TT)
Hi Alex,

Unfortunately no, as my users don't want to always have to type in the extra value, just once in a while. I take it that this is still not supported then?

Thanks,
Stephanie

Plain open selection is not supported out of the box, no. You can
probably write a component doing that though, in the same way that
fr:autocomplete does.

Stephanie,

Like Erik said, open selection is not support, but would something
along the lines of what is shown here work for you:
