Date input with variable precision

Hi,

Is it possible to have a date input with varying degrees of precision?
For example I'd like our users to be able to enter either nothing, a
year, a year and month or a full date (year, month and day).

There is not a single control that does all of this for you. Most  
likely you will need to design the UI you want to have, and create it  
using multiple XForms controls.
