Database read only error

Anish Chandran
Hi,
I am a person new to this orbeon technology. I have developed an
application using this xforms. My problem is, some times when I am viewing the
eform pages an orbeon error is occuring ie; " Database readonly ". If I want to
see the eform pages any more, I have to delete the existing orbeon.war and
deploy a new one. Please tell me why this error is occuring and what is its
solution.

Thanks,
Anish Chandran

Re: Database read only error

Anish,

OF uses the eXist database to store the application/session state.
An instance of eXist is deployed along with OF.  I don't know why
those database files might be read-only.

After you deploy, look at the expanded war and the ownership/permissions
of the files in the exsit-data directory.

I'm not certain how to fix the problem.  Change the permissions to 666?

Regards,
Hank

I have never seen this error. What database is it referring to?

Do you have an exception in your logs, or in the web browser?

Hi Hank,

This error is not getting frequently. I changed the default
permission from 0775 to 666 in the exist-conf.xml file
orbeon\WEB-INF\exist-conf.xml). I didn't get any exception after that.
Thanks for the suggestion. Is this the correct fix for the issue.

I'm glad you found a solution to this one. BTW, on what operating
system did you encounter this problem?
